Dating back to ancient Greece (688BC!), Boxing has stood the test of time and proven to be an effective standing combat method used to defend oneself.

 

Boxing combines movements such as footwork, head movement and feigns to deliver powerful strikes. Proper footwork allows the boxer to keep their balance at all times and never be caught unexpectedly. By maintaining balance, boxers can deftly block and avoid incoming strikes, setting their opponent up for counter-strikes that the opponent never sees coming until it is too late.

 

Boxing also provides a fantastic, heart-pounding cardio workout. The boxer’s movements work and train the major and minor muscle groups in the lower body, the strikes give the upper body a full workout, and the twists and dodges engage the body’s core muscles. Boxing will keep your whole body finely tuned while also giving you the tools needed to protect yourself in most situation.

Our gym is open to anyone who wishes to join. Be forewarned; the training you will receive is for fitness as well as boxing. Whether you wish to just do boxing for fitness or you wish to become a professional. Ground Control is here to help you.
