Rocky MarcantoniCONTACT TRAINER
Rocky Marcantoni has been involved in Martial Arts most of his life. He began training in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu in 1997 after watching how effectively Royce Gracie used it in the first Ultimate Fighting Championships. He began his training under Mark Finley who was trained by the legendary Rickson Gracie in California. About a year after Rocky began his training, Mr. Finley met John Rallo at a local tournament. Subsequently, he invited John Rallo to the academy and Rocky and John began training together. Mark and John met Renzo Gracie at a tournament and he invited John to train at his Manhattan Academy. Rocky and John began making weekly trips to Renzo’s New York academy. There they had the opportunity to train with Renzo Gracie, Sean Alvarez, Matt Serra, Ricardo Almeida, Rodrigo Gracie and many other word class fighters. Eventually Mark Finley gave the academy to Rocky and John. Rocky taught most of the classes in the beginning while John was competing professionally. Continuing to make trips to Renzo’s almost every Saturday Rocky worked to perfect his Jiu-Jitsu. Over the years Rocky has competed in many tournaments usually taking first or second. In 2006 Renzo promoted Rocky to Brown Belt after a close contest and a double overtime with a well known Renzo Black Belt during Renzo’s in house tournament that would decide who represented his academy in the Abu Daubi trials. In 2008 after talking to Renzo John promoted Rocky to Black Belt.
