Chris Stickles is a Mixed Martial Arts and Muay Thai competitor, coach, and corner-man. Chris began his journey into MMA/Muay Thai/BJJ in Virginia Beach in 2005. After training for a couple of months and getting a taste for it, he relocated to Northern Virginia where he trained with the likes of Ryan Hall and The Ultimate Fighter (TUF) season 8 contestant Dave Kaplan. After making one final move back to his home of Baltimore, Chris hooked up with the fighters at Team Ground Control. For the past 10 years, Chris has been with Team Ground Control as a fighter (Muay Thai and MMA), sparring partner, coach, and corner-man. He has trained with, sparred, and coached numerous World Kickboxing Association (WKA) national and world champions, as well as a number of local and regional MMA champions. Chris developed an immense knowledge of striking for MMA and Muay Thai under the tutelage of Henry Smith, who is currently the striking coach for UFC number one lightweight contender Donald “Cowboy” Cerrone. While Muay Thai and MMA are Chris’ main passions, he also holds a purple belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu under John Rallo.
