Bryce Garipay - Ground Control Columbia

Ground Control Employee - Bryce Garipay

Bryce Garipay

Bryce developed a passion for martial arts in 2010 when he began his training. In April of 2011 he joined Ground Control after being referred by a friend who was already a member. At the time his main focus was training Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and he trained rigorously with the Ground Control team. For years he trained regularly, attending class 5 to 6 times per week and training in as many disciplines as possible. Bryce began competing in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu by the end of 2011 and has since competed in Kickboxing and Mixed Martial Arts as well.

In February of 2013 Bryce became an assistant Kid’s Instructor, helping teach the kids class 3 days a week. He then began filling in for the striking instructors in their absence. In December of 2013 Rocky Marcantoni promoted Bryce to purple belt. By 2014 Bryce was teaching his own Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu two times a week, covering for the striking instructors, as well as helping out with the Kid’s classes three times a week. Today Bryce primarily teaches the Muay Thai class, but because he is such a well-rounded martial artist he also fills in for the boxing and Muay Thai instructors.
